l nombre de Girasol se le dio a esta flor porque no solamente tiene la forma del sol sino porque, cuando son jóvenes y sin haber sido cortadas, siguen el movimiento del sol, desde el oriente al occidente.
En la noche, se devuelven, para esperar el nacimiento del sol, al oriente.
Dicen que siguen ese movimiento para aprovechar al máximo la energía solar y poder crecer más rápido y fuertes.
